Elizabeth (full album)

2015 was ending and I was running low on motivation and inspiration in my photography. The latter was due to a couple of reasons; however, one project in particular took “the wind out of my sails” when my plans didn’t go as expected. So, I took a breather, shared a few more sunset photographs online, and went through the emotions until I was inspired again.
Sometime in Autumn 2015, I first noticed Elizabeth (“Lizzy”) and thought she had a unique look. She caught my eye but I didn’t think about working with her. After one or two months of feeling unsure about photography, I decided to reach out to Lizzy. I decided I couldn’t stop creating, and eventually would be inspired again. Whether it would be working with Lizzy or something else – I had to continue.
Lizzy and I spoke briefly, and I shared my ideas with her. She was excited, we set a date, and I began to plan. With each portrait session, whether for hire or a personal project, I feel that I improve and have seen improvement in my photographic abilities. Going into my session with Lizzy, I felt more confident than any other time in the past. I had a vision for how I wanted to photography Lizzy but had no expectations of how it would turn out.
We met on an early Saturday morning in early December in Santa Ana, California. I picked up Lizzy and we drove to Laguna Beach, the location of the session. During the drive, we spoke a bit more. Lizzy expressed her nervousness but I tried to assure her she would do great. Some shots were planned, some were improvised, but I knew I had something special by the end of the session.
It was just about one year ago when I decided to purchase a DSLR and pursue portrait photography. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful people who are beautiful inside and out. Elizabeth’s album is the culmination of my photography work in 2015. I truly feel it is my best work to date and once again I’m inspired.
Thank you to everyone that supported me through likes and comments on Instagram and Facebook, working on my projects, and hiring me. I sincerely appreciate it and look forward to how 2016 will turn out.
Enjoy Elizabeth’s full album, and have a prosperous and happy new year!
